Studio Policies

Absences

Absences: In order to obtain the greatest benefit from classes, you must be present! Technical skills can be developed to the fullest if you are consistently in the classroom. Missed classes can result in missed choreography and will negatively affect your performance, but perfect attendance will ensure the best performance possible. As with any other sport, dance requires commitment!

A phone call or email is very much appreciated if a dancer is not going to be in class. This would be considered an excused absence.

Accounts

Accounts: Each dancer will be charged a yearly registration fee of $20. This fee is non-refundable.

Each dancer participating in production will be charged a yearly production fee, $77 for the first dancer, $71 for each subsequent dancer. This fee is non-refundable after September 30th. Any dancer who decides to not participate in Production or discontinues their dance education in October, November, December, January, February, March, April or May WILL NOT receive a refund on their Production fee.

Canceled classes

-we will make a call by 2pm in the afternoon.

-we do not follow Johnston Schools cancellations. Often when school is canceled in the morning, by 2pm the roads are clear, weather has improved and the studio will be open for dance.

-the decision will be posted to our website on the homepage.

-it will also be sent to the three local tv stations, channel 5, 8 and 13.

-an email will be sent.

-please check the above three resources BEFORE calling the studio.

-class make-up is any class, any time at your convenience. A great opportunity to try another class!

Cancellations

Cancellations: All registration fees are non refundable. Any cancellation or class withdrawal require a two week notice prior to the first of the month. Any cancellation or withdrawal from class received after the 15th of the month will be charged a full month's tuition for the following month. For example, Kelly Dancer decides to not continue with dance and informs the front desk on the 20th of the month. Kelly Dancer will be charged a full month tuition for the the next month because the cancellation notice was not received before the 15th of the month.

Class Attire

Ballet, Tap and Jazz Attire
Girls ages 2 yr – 7 yr: pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (205C Daisy), suntan tap shoes (3800 Mary Jane).

Girls, Level 1 and up, ages 8 yr and up: black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (leather), bloch tan tap flex shoes (SO388), tan jazz shoes (SO401, SO495).

Boys: white t-shirt, black dance pants, black ballet shoes, black tap shoes (SO388), black jazz shoes.

Modern Attire
Girls: black leotard, tights, bare feet or dance paws.
Boys: white t-shirt, black dance pants, bare feet or dance paws.

Costume Policy

Costume Policy: Because all costumes are ordered thru large companies, costumes will not have a custom fit on your child. We do our very best to order the correct size based on measurements and size charts. Any and all alterations will be done at the dancer’s expense. Any costume exchanges thru the costume company will have a $25 costume exchange charge applied.

E-mail

E-mail: Please keep your e-mail address updated in our systems by letting a staff member know when your address has changed. In an effort to be more green, this is the best way for us to contact you. All monthly account statements are sent via e-mail. Please let us know if you do not receive a monthly account statement.

Food and drinks

Food and drinks: Food and drinks are allowed in the lobby and dressing room. None are allowed in the dance studios with the exception of water. Please pick up all of your garbage as you leave the studio to keep the area clean for other dancers.

Information Board

Information Board: This is where all of the information about happenings in our dance studio will be posted. Please check the board each time you or your child attends class for any new information.
